123 DVD Ripper is a friendly and intuitive software tool that allows you to back up your DVD movies into various lighter and simpler formats. It can be used as much by the novice as by the expert user. The program fully supports batch mode backup and allows you to select the specific titles you want to extract from a DVD movie.

The program's user interface is a well-balanced mixture of visual design and functionality. However, it is a bit uncolored, and it does not offer any interchangeable skins. Besides, the lack of a traditional menu bar and of explanatory labels in most of its buttons may make it appear hard to use at first glance. Anyway, the program is intuitive enough to be used by any person with an average experience in PCs and Windows.

The program allows you to load the contents of your DVD movie by selecting its standard VIDEO_TS folder. It then lists all the titles within the movie, showing their individual duration and the number of chapters. You can load more than one DVD movie and make use of the batch processing function, and select only those titles you really want to back up. In addition, you can choose the audio and subtitle tracks you want to be included on the resulting files for each title.

The program includes an embedded basic media player for you to have a preview of any of your listed titles. Finally, you can set your preferred output options, such as the video format (Video CD, Super Video CD, AVI, and WMV are available), the output folder, the maximum resulting size, and the type of zoom. In short, 123 DVD Ripper is a practical tool that allows you to make backups of your full DVD movies, or of selected titles only, even if you are not an expert.
